H.E. Mr. Muhammad Haruna Manta arrived South Africa on 22nd July, 2021 as High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Republic of South Africa, and the Kingdoms of Lesotho and eSwatini.
He holds a degree in Geography, Post Graduate Diploma in International
Relations, and Masters Degree in Public & International Affairs. Since joining the Nigerian Federal Civil Service as Foreign Service Officer inAugust, 1981, he has worked at the Embassies of Nigeria in Accra, Ghana; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Dhaka, Bangladesh; Khartoum, Sudan.
At home, he worked as Assistant Director, Office of the HonourableMinister of State for Foreign Affairs, 2003 – 2007; Director and Head of Liaison Office of the Ministry of ForeignAffairs Lagos,2007 – 2010; Member, Nigeria Delegation to Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) Ministerial Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1996, 1998, 1999 & 2000; Member, Nigerian Delegation to African Union (AU) Summit 2005, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2014 and 2015;
Secretary to Amirul Hajj and Federal Government Delegation to Hajj,2006/2007; Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary,2013–2016;
He was born in Minna, Niger State of Nigeria on 20th October, 1957. He Enjoys Reading, charity and sports.
